On November 18th I went into the midwives to get a flu shot and to see if we could hear the heartbeat. I was 14 weeks pregnant and two weeks earlier at 12 weeks we had attempted to hear the heartbeat. James met me at the doctor’s for my appointment but the midwife could not find the heartbeat. She heard it for a couple seconds and said not to worry because I had a tilted uterus so it is harder to hear. Then we went in two weeks later and she found it right away. James said it sounded like waving sheet metal back and forth. It was reassuring since I hadn’t been sick for a couple weeks, yet I couldn’t feel any movement yet, so it was nice to know that the baby was still in there and doing well.
