PostHeaderIcon The First Three Months of Pregnancy

The baby was conceived right around our 8 year anniversary. What a great present! We planned to get pregnant in August and it worked right away. I was very nauseous for the first three months. It shouldn’t really be called morning sickness when it lasts all day long. We have decided to have a midwife deliver the baby even though it is a 40 minute drive to the clinic where certified nurse midwives’ practice. It is worth it to us since midwives have less instances of invasive procedures including c-sections. They also treat a birth as a natural process that should be guided by the mother, instead of a medical problem. Our hospital is almost an hour away, but is closer for just about all of our friends and family to go to than for us. It has a special midwife unit and we will have a room with a double bed, a place for Jimmy to sleep, and a tub. I can deliver in the tub if I want to and we will be staying in the same room from start to finish. The baby wont ever leave the room until the day we leave the hospital unless there is an emergency.
